Simple, fast and economical slab on grade and lightweight fill solution
A void formwork system is a concrete-shaping structure made of recycled plastic that is used only once and stays inside the slab. Also known as disposable or permanent formwork, it creates reinforced concrete raised floors up to 300 cm — the lightest, fastest and most economical alternative to conventional fill applications.
In the Philippines it is the best option for slab-on-grade and renovation applications — sunken slab fills, landscape fills, amenity floors, car park ramps, swimming pool decks, fills between foundation footings and more. Two systems cover every height: ABS Plus (adjustable, 20–300 cm) and ABS Level (fixed, 5/10/15 cm).
ABS Void Formworks are single-use formworks made from recycled plastic. They create reinforced concrete raised floors up to 300 cm and provide a lightweight, fast and economical alternative to conventional fill applications.
They are used in lightweight fill applications such as sunken slab fills, landscape fills, amenity floor construction, inverted beam fills, fills between foundation footings, ramp construction, swimming pool decks, crawl space construction, low-voltage distribution rooms and rainwater harvesting systems.
ABS Plus is the adjustable-height system for larger fill heights from 20 cm to 300 cm. ABS Level is the fixed-height system, typically used for thinner raised floors at 5 cm, 10 cm and 15 cm.
The system creates a mostly hollow reinforced concrete raised floor, so the structure carries the weight of the topping concrete and legs rather than the full mass of compacted traditional fill material. This reduces dead load and improves site logistics.
Installation reaches up to 100 m²/hour for fixed-height systems and 20 m²/hour for adjustable-height systems, with no skilled labor required. This shortens construction time and lets other site activities continue in parallel.
At a sample height of 100 cm with only 5 cm of topping concrete, the live load-bearing capacity is 55 kN/m² — suitable for a wide range of structural fill applications.
Yes. One of the main benefits is the void space created under the slab: it can be used for electrical, mechanical and plumbing installations, turning otherwise lost fill volume into functional service space.
The Wide Base System is a specialized ABS Plus variant designed for natural ground or softer substrates. Its larger base increases the ground contact area and helps reduce puncturing, settlement and deflection risks in raised floor construction.
Yes. ABS Philippines supports projects with engineering solutions, site supervision, installation services and technical guidance, helping match the right system to each project's structural and logistical requirements.
Yes. The product group holds National Technical Approval (UTO) and G Mark certification. Certification is carried out by independent organizations, while repeated tests and quality inspections maintain the same quality standard across every delivered product.
Yes. ABS Plus received the Altın Çekiç International Building Catalog 2020 Equivalent Award in the Innovative Structural Product category — an additional trust and innovation signal for specifiers and contractors.
